The Cheeyaz! we all love

The Angelic Marbled Silver: Birk!

Birk

My first chinchilla, now three and a half years old, and the most gentle-natured pet you can ever imagine. The times he's bit me can be counted on one hand's fingers, with plenty of fingers to spare. Or, well, gentle to people. He almost bit the paw off my friend's hamster once, and his first encounter with the mice I kept almost three years ago could have proved to be fatal. Was incredibly jealous when I bought Blackie, and still doesn't like her.

The Demonic Black Velvet: Blackie!

Blackie

The second chinchilla I ever bought, is this sweet black velvet female. She'll be one year May 9th, and is thus the youngest of the cheeyaz. So far. When I bought her she was five months old, and anything but tame, and now, she's the most spoilt creature that ever nibbled on a raisin. And simply adorable, she loves to cuddle and can sit under my sweater when I play the computer or even in the car, and be perfectly content. I can't pass by her cage eating without giving her a taste, though, that just makes her mad.

The Macho Grey: Jayhawk!

S167 - J169 (Jayhawk)

Jayhawk is probably the best chinchilla I'll ever own, and he's the newest addition to the cast. Big, strong, and a former breeding male, I've only had him for a short while. Year and a half old, but looks like he's at least three, for size. Bet he'll father some lovely kits when the time comes... His former owner was a fur farmer, so that explains why he looks so good. How come they have all the big and pretty chinchers, I'll never know...

The Honeycake Grey Lady: Paletten's Cassiopeia!

Paletten's Cassiopeia

Peia was bought in connection to a chinchilla breeders' theme day that I was attending to, and she now lives together with Birk. She isn't quite sure of me yet, or she's just stubborn. I'm not sure which. She can be a real bitch when she wants to, after I put the two of them together she harassed Birk for two days before she'd even let him sit on the floor. After that, though, they've gotten along really well. They are so damned cute together!!!
